Is there any announcement on Bitcoins segwit change? How do I keep myself updated on the news?

i heard there is about to be a split in november again... currently btc at 3000... it myt go down to 2000

SegWit has activated.  To spend SegWit transactions, just receive coins to a SegWit-compatible wallet and then spend them from your SegWit addresses.

In November, there will be a hard fork to 2MB blocks as part of the New York Agreement.  Of course, it's your choice whether to support the new chain and there will be warnings if replay attacks are likely.
