How to secure a PC or device in general, connected to the internet 24/7?

Well the subject is long I no longer remember everything I learned over time and today I just do it.
You can help with your personal advice, even the smallest thing is worth,
because one thing brings the other and so they will be chained and we can show true solutions here.
There are many people waiting for their response, especially those who today hesitate to do 24/7 staking.
Keep in mind that absolute security is not sought here.

I am not sure if I understand your post correctly but I am going to give it a go. First off, being connected to the internet isnt a bad thing unless you are going to dangerous websites

and actively downloading virsus. That being known, I try running VMs (virtual machine) for more unknown wallets so that if something does go wrong in there it doesnt effect my main computer.

Other than that if you encrypt your wallets upon putting coin in them then having your wallet open is perfect for staking. Do note that even if unlocked for staking the password

is still required to send coins, so it is a very safe process nonetheless (unless you lose your private keys ofcourse). I personally didnt know that until recently which eases the mind.

For example use and configure a firewall. Use original operating systems, keep them up to date, and a very long etc, which we consider obvious, but for people who are not very lovers of techno, these things are not known. And somehow it is necessary to expose these subjects to help these people.

If you want to be more secure use Ubuntu or Mac. There is common misinformation that there are viruses only on Windows but that is of course not true. Its just that most people use Windows and most malwares are made for it. Just by switching to other platform you will get huge security boost as there is significantly lower change of you getting infected.

What you are proposing is a very effective solution, but it is not suitable, for those who do not love techno.
I want to deal with the security of the devices of most of the newcomers to this "world of bitcoin". They will use Windows and Android.
This can help to dramatically increase the number of users with cryptocurrency.
I am totally convinced that it is easier to improve security in Windows than to use GNU/Linux, or MAC for its price.
Example: We start with Linux: Make a good password for the Super User, and so ...
Why not say: 1º- Windows user, enable super user, set good password, etc.
2º- Learn to grant permissions to folders and so ...
3º- Properly configure your firewall and so ...

Even if you do everything right, there is a change that new scam/malware will pop up and that your PC will be infected. For example what I see nowdays is someone sending you PDF on email. You open it and think nothing of it but your infected already. So even if you "know what you are doing" you can't think of everything

From the all above, there is at least one way to ensure the device to remain 24/7 securely connected, this way is:

Use a device exclusively for staking, omitting all dangerous activities with it, and not using to surf the internet.
There are very cheap devices that can be used for this use only.

If you want to keep your pc online for 24/7, the perfect solution is to use a virtual private network (vpn) and run your desired apps in vps, this way you will have to pay small monthly rent to vps provider and your software will stay online all the time.

I personally did the following. I went to the store and bought a laptop from which I only work. Immediately bought a good antivirus program and so far it is happy. No third-party sites and questionable operations. Just everything you need for work. Keys and passwords from wallets and exchanges are also stored on it, but still I do not consider it the safest place, it is better to store on removable media.
