Every time a block is mined, a certain amount of BTC (called the subsidy) is created out of thin air and given to the miner. The subsidy halves every four years and will reach 0 in about 130 years.

The fan runs at idle on the two 1200w ones and the 750w one I have. I did alot of reading up to see if they were noisy and if they reach 55-60c temperature then the fans ramp up but mine have never got that hot as I try to keep them at 50% load max. I have a blower style fan directed across the breakout board and into the rear of the psu as a precaution but its not really needed. I would say that its definitely as quiet as an atx at idle.

Thank You

As i was planning to get around 50 x 1200W HP Server Supplies.

So i wanted to make right decision.. and cost effective... as it will save good amount of money as compared to buy Corsair/Evga brands and buying hefty

Is there any issue if the HP 1200W Platinum Power Supplies are like 90% New and 10% Used... if those Chinese Sellers selling.. with warranty?

As buying Brand new these models i assume not available...  And would be pricey... comes around to same ATX Corsair/Evga...

Not sure where you are based but if in Europe try J4bberwock. I have various breakouts for the IBM 2880 and 6 pin to 6pin PCIe cable from him over last 2 years. Good quality and good prices. He has various PSU in stock as well as the breakout boards and cable.

Has anyone used Chinese OEM Power Supplies...

They mentioned its 80+ Efficiency Platinum.

Most of the branded Power supplies are now also manufactured in China too....

I believe its just the NAME..

Let me know your views.. if anyone using those Chinese OEM Power Supplies... they are using good quality capacitors etc..

Hi guys,

Could we use an 1200 hp server supply for vega 56 mining?

I want to build a rig with 12 vegas. Smiley Probably will use an atx evga  750 watts power supply for Mb, ssd and 2 -3 vegas for example. And 2 X 1200 hp power supply for 9-10 vegas.

My doubt is, In the breakout board i have an 6 pin output.

My vega consomes 175 watts optimized and underclocked. But if wattman crashes sometimes they go to 2xx watts.  Cool

Its ok to use this supply and breakout board with 6 pin connectores and  n 6-Pin Male To 2 x 8-Pin (6+2) Male PCI Express Wire 16AWG  anyway?

The 6 pin connector could handle this wattage, what is the limit?

Thanks

You definitely need to use 2 1200. It would be better to take the 2400W HP psu.

Just buyed 2 hp power supplys  of 1200 watts  and one evga 750 for motherboard and 2 gpus etc..Smiley  totally power from wall is 1750 watts for 9 gpus.

One strange thing happens, when i power on the system , sometimes the gpus dont start, and i dont see the fans running, and consequently they are not recognizes in windows if i leave this way. I have to poweroff and power on quickly and voilá. I have all the fdd cables connected to the power supplys and the same power supply for riser and gpu pcie power.

What could it be this?

Thanks
