A Question About Relation Between GAS and NEO/LAToken

I'm new to the dijital currency world. Im trading since a month. I bought some coins like NEO and I bought LAToken.

My question is : While i was buying LAToken, i had to choose minumum 50000 GAS option. And some people speak about GAS and NEO relationship. What GAS to do with LAToken or NEO?
What kind of relation between them? Should i do something for that?

GAS is the operational token that powers the smart contracts and tokens built on the NEO blockchain. GAS dividends also accumulate as fees to the network. Users pay in GAS to deploy and run smart contracts.
