You should join the main p2pool network (git://github.com/cctvsmg/yacoin-p2pool.git), it's running at more than 10MH/s right now.
Edit: I assumed you were on another network when you spoke of 4MH/s but it seems you are already on the main one and it's your node that has 4MH/s.

P2Pool doesn't like high latencies (see the guide in my signature). If miners connected to this node don't have a very good connection to it, 30% DOA isn't surprising at all.
