Hi Everyone,

I can confirm JSEcoin is definitely not dead We've been working hard on the on some big improvements behind the scenes:

The platform is now ready to scale up with multiple instances running behind a load balancer
The system data is now more secure being saved on a Google Firebase DB
Something really important to us has been making improvements to the whitepaper which have now been released at https://jsecoin.com/whitepaper.pdf

On a side note, this is probably obvious to most, but don't try buying any coins off the scammers. We've had bad reports from people who have been caught out by this. If you want to invest pre-ICO use the official funds page on the platform.

We are still finalizing some details but we've drafted a Bitcointalk ANN thread which will be posted shortly and we hope to get more involved in this community.

Thanks to rpjacobs for starting this thread and dealing with some of the more interesting replies.

I mined this coin for maybe 10 days, 6 hours per day and I only got 1 JSE coin for my trouble. I stopped because I got distracted with other coins. I think I will start mining again and see if I can get more now.

Their purpose is not to push people to mine with huge and/or specific equipment. Everybody gets a fair chance to earn coins no matter if 1 or 1000 correct hashes were sent.


People are mostly focused on the self-mining platform for the moment (including myself). But, if I'm not mistaken, their true goal is to have webmasters implementing the script so that visitors surfing on a website mine for the webmaster's account (by using a bit of the excess of CPU power reserved by the browser) instead of seeing annoying advertising. I think it's a very interesting approach especially if it's done with fair respect of the end user but I still wonder how they will set the balance between web-mining and self-mining on the long term.
