Hello Guys,

I've just installed ubuntu 11.04 on my usb thumb drive and it's working perfectly.

I want to store my bitcoins on the thumb drive and make copies of the wallet.dat on to multiple secure devices.

My issue is that I can't find the wallet.dat in ubuntu. (I've found the wallet.dat on windows quite easily, so i'm not sure how difficult it is on ubuntu)

I've installed the bitcoin client but haven't transferred any coins to the new client on ubuntu yet. Do I have to transfer coins to the bitcoin client for a wallet.dat to appear?

Any help is appreciated to find the wallet.dat

Thanks!

Thanks randomguy7. I haven't tried it out yet because when I installed Linux on the usb I didn't use "Persistent" so everytime I restart the computer anything I did previously (such as installing the bitcoin client) gets lost. So I need to re-install ubuntu on the usb driver right now.

I'll be back.

EDIT: Solved! thanks random your location worked.
