I have two twin frozr II 6950s and a refrence msi 6950(unlocked shaders) setup in xfire in win7 64bit. My first problem is the middle card (frozr) is overheating even with 100% fan speed it gets into the 90s. I haven't even bothered with overclocking yet but in CCC I set powertune to -20% on this card and it still gets into the upper 80s but its performance goes down a lot. My system still crashes too! I have a 1.2kw power supply so power shouldn't be an issue. Do I have to go water cooling just to get my temps under control for 3 cards?? I'm considering it anyways as I'd like to have 3 cards pushing 400+ mh/s each  Grin
Each block is stacked on top of the previous one. Adding another block to the top makes all lower blocks more difficult to remove: there is more "weight" above each block. A transaction in a block 6 blocks deep (6 confirmations) will be very difficult to remove.

Might want to check the configuration of your fans. Do you have a case that is made to transfer this much heat?

Get a second (smaller) power supply, put one or two of the cards on that.   As for thermals, I replaced the chincy fan on mine with an intel heatsink fan.   Roars like a jet engine but keeps it below 80.   As a warning, you will have to mould plastic and it will violate your warranty to do this.

I got 2 xfx6950 in xfire the other day and they run over 90c on standard settings, standard cooling so i got Accrelo xtreme Plus II for them as after market cooling and now have them clocked up to 840mhz gpu, 1325mhz on the memory and 20% power with them running quiet one at 80c 59%fan speed the other at 67c 39% fan speed. Now have been pulling 660mhash's. I havnt reflashed the bios for the shader side I want to wait and see how stable this is and so far so good.

http://www.anandtech.com/show/4254/triplegpu-performance-multigpu-scaling-part1/2

it appears anandtech had the same issue. I thought having the twin frorzr heatsink would mitigate this issue  http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127562 but my middle card is wayy too hot. It looks like the card air flow is directed into the case vs refrence design and with no room ends up overheating. I ended up putting the middle card in another mining rig replacing an older 4870. I'll probly end up selling the frorzr II cards as the shaders don't unlock (anyone want to buy one? 14.8 BTC) and getting 2 more refrence cards and going with water cooling. Anyone know what parts I should buy???
