Is it really a good investnment? Or are coins with the color coins feature built into them will make Devcoin obsolete. Your thoughts?

The no cap part worries me.  So I can earn Devcoins by writing and then trade them for Bitcoin.  Each time there's a payout to writers, and they all flood the exchange trying to trade them for Bitcoins, won't the value of Devcoins just plummet?  Or at the very least, steadily decline in value with predictable falls right around the time the Devtome pays out?

Also what the hell is with the unlimited supply (no cap on devcoin?)

There will be about 262.8 Billion DVC by 2113.

Assuming the price of one devcoin is $1 by that time, that's almost the value of Microsoft in 2012.

A *lot* of open source development work can happen in 100 years.

I really don't see the problem.

As long as Devcoin continues to develop, it will eventually bypass Bitcoin in public notice. But by bypassing bitcoin it will bring tons of attention to bitcoin (since it is based on it).

So basically, as long as we keep getting more people to notice devcoin, and more people with ideas get paid devcoin, the value will continue to rise untill bitcoin hits a peak. Then it will fall only if bitcoin takes on bigger and grander projects than devcoin.

But the unlimited cap gives Devcoin the possibility of being mined in the future, so there could be people mining on mars one day.

If Devcoin/Devtome has changed your life, or even just slightly increased your standard of living, please share about it here. We need stories of faith, hope, and redemption brought on by Devcoin. Or even just "I got some coins and bought a new miner".

Huh? DeVCoin is only just getting started. We only recently set up our forum and have barely started populating it with sections / categories / topics yet, our only Open Transactions server so far is the same old original Digitalis server because "Open Transactions for Grandmas" isn't out yet, and so on and so on. These are early days still.

The no cap is a good feature to have when the demand rises.
I am sure dev coin will soon get to where it deserves.

Time to buy some as they are at their lowest now.

not at their lowest, I bought the heck of it when it was at 11-12 satoshi last year. looks like it want to go below 20 again. let's see what happens. I'll surely snap a few more millions down there.

The fact that its merged mined with BTC is a huge advantage. That makes Devcoin one of the most secure alt, and I'm sure that's enough to attract investors.
