the first question that comes to mind: how will you determine if a player is not just another chess programme? this will be a bot fest, you will be lucky if you get a single legit human player there also the entry fee is very low, wonder what the prizes are going to be Ilove chess but my ELO is not high enough to participate in such a tourney

lichess covers against chess engines pretty well and considering this is a bullet tournament crappy chess players are going to be forced to set engines to unfavorable conditions (by lowering the depth). Good players will likely premove and still spend less time than engines however due to consistent playing which adds memorization of certain patterns used in tactics.

A very good idea by the way. I dont play chess but I guess it would have been great if you let others bet on the games which are running in the tournament. Heard about lichess engines and its great implementation to clarify the real gamers.

For sure he'll defeat most players for sure. Skill based gambling like chess is not something that would last since we cannot really determine the level of expertise of every player and match them with each other. That would mean that a newbie will always lose and he will not profit from this.

Don't be too lazy to find the details on the site, all what you ask is explained on the site already so go visit the site if you really wanna know the answer of your question. What if a grand master chess player joins? For sure he'll defeat most players for sure.
So whats the problem? This is a tournament, anyone can join it including a chess grand master even though I doubt there will be any grand master wasting their time for this kind of site.

Very nice idea, been looking for this type of game in bitcoin with bet. Can you post on how many participants have joined and how many are the participants that you will accumulate until you close the registration? No hopes to be a champion but I just want to compete and try it out, this would be fun.

Thanks for the interest. Currently we have 25 users registered. We are promoting this event from today. We are hoping to get 500 participants for this tournament.
It will be awesome if you can follow us on Twitter(@chess_que) and share the post.
We want to try with 1 min tournament this time. It will eliminate people using engines to cheat.
We have kept the entry fee low so that anyone who can play chess can participate and enjoy the tournament feeling.

How you detect bots playing ? A friend of mine is a very good chess player and he said is very hard to find bots when they may be as good as pro players. Just wondering...

I can finally test my chess skills on this site and its good that bitcoin winnings could possible be achieved on this one.Im not a pro player but would really be worth to try to compete with other players.I dont have doubts if these games have bot or not since the entry fee is very cheap. I will try this one later on and give feedback on my sites experience.

lichess.org has a good bot detection system in place. We have chess masters on our platform, who will also check for suspicious activities.

Don't get me wrong, I really love chess, and I would participate if that wasn't an online event, because that's just the way to play chess. Maybe by video conference would work as well, but not on any simple online platform. What would you consider to be a "suspicious activity"? Unless you are asking for a player to justify every single move, you just can't accuse him of using a bot.

It is nice to see someone created a site that allows users to compete with each other playing chess and also stand a chance to win bitcoins as prizes for being the winner of the game, the low entry fee of just 25000 satoshi per game is also a good way to attract more players for playing on the site for entertainment purpose.

I haven't seen any chess tournament before and it is even rare to find one in bitcoin niche, can't understand how this tournament will work. Played few round of chess in http://lichess.org/ will look around to know how actually I can play in this tournament. You can also add donation address for pot, few users might donate to pot because of this interesting idea.

Just look to your site right now, and I must say I really liked its interface. These sites never last long though because of the bot problem, like most users are saying here. I haven't registered yet, but I saw you can play vs a friend. Can you choose a friend and bet an amount of BTC? That could be a good way to keep the site alive, because we can play vs some trusted friends, without the fear of facing a bot and thus having an unfair game.

Easy, if they have chat room and we can talk with other player on this game. that wasn't a bot because they held a tournament and i think all participant will don't mind to chat.

LOL this is the funniest suggestion on how to avoid bots. Even if you see all players are chatting, how do you know that they do not use bot? They can simply set the bot ON then they can chat while the bot works.
