When you go to create a new thread there's an additional options link at the bottom you need to click and check the self mod box. You can't do it after the the thread has been created and it's not allowed in some sub boards like Meta and Auctions.

A: On the top right of your post is a delete button. You can delete threads if nobody has seen them. Otherwise, just click "Lock topic" link at the bottom left.
