I just wrote a post about this earlier:

You can actually skip through ranks if you have potential activity once you've made the required posts. For instance, this account had the potential to be a Hero rank even when I was a Full Member once I'd made the 480 posts to get there. You can only do this by posting in 35 activity periods though so it's actually possible to go from being a Junior Member straight to Hero but you would still have had to make at least one post in each activity period over the time it would have taken you to naturally get there (and then the 480 posts) so this is obviously not possible for your account.

The only other alternative is to buy a forum account (not recommended) but this is why I've previously suggested users be able to donate to the forum instead to get essentially a higher ranked account with larger signature etc.

Edit: More on potential activity here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1655539.0

Though searching 'potential activity' will bring up plenty of other threads explaining it.

You basically only need to make one post every fortnight to collect that activity but to do so you will still need to make the required posts to achieve that rank.

by making at least  one post every two week you earn 14 potential activity points. Having potential activity can be much quicker to reach higher rank.(actvity score)

Potential activity is the activity that has been stock in your account ,
It could help you to Rank up without waiting for the update if you reach the potential activity needed to rank up.

It means that the time needed to cover these up is the same and not a way to reach that particular rank but you can by purchasing account that is made a long time ago like hilariousetc said which has stock activity or potential activity.

This is for additional or other interpretation of mine.

As long as you have enough posts to cover it up. Activity count can't be higher but can be equal to post count despite your potential activity and whatso.
