On your wallet, go to Help > Debug Window > Console, then type getinfo. The total amount of coins is "moneysupply":

"blocks" : 72038,
"moneysupply" : 2918592.27324800,
"difficulty" : 1.95440177,

As you see, after a month of mining there's less than 3 million coins.

You can try with http://yacexplorer.tk , http://yacexplorer.tk/chain/Yacoin/q/totalbc but is currently not up to date.

I think yacoin is pretty much dead..

Such a helpful answer.
Don't take me for an altcoin fanboy but YAC p2pool hashrate ATM is 14.1 MH, this is without taking other pools into account, so no YAC it's not dead at all.
And also YAC is the only altcoin that kinda holds it's value in exchange after some massive dumps. Can't say the same from any other recent alt coin.

YAC could be worth nothing in a month or a day, but at least you could bother taking a look at the facts.

Remember increasing Nfactor naturally decreases the hashrate for everybody. It can't even be compared to normal GPU coin hashrates.

I was not comparing here, but stating that the overall hashrate is HIGH for Yacoin, not low.
Just for anyone trying to compare, a fast i7 CPU alone can reach about 100 kh .

YAC is not dead, AT ALL. I think it's the only alt-coin that has survived from the recent alt-coin bubble.

but what is the max quantity that will be ever mined? I can't see that number anywhere. Is there a limit as for btc, ltc and others?

Its much harder to predict. You should look at Novacoin and PPCoin for estimates.

Its going be close to 10M coins per year unless the graphs make new turns.

I think there's a hard cap at 2 billion. Of course, you can also walk to the Moon, given enough time.

At 20 coins per minute we are talking of 190 years to reach it.

If it's based on the same philosophy of Sunny's PPCoin (which the code is derived from) there is no fixed upper limit. The 2 billion hard coded max is just for checking purposes.

Welp, I've been asked to redo yacoin.org's design (I've been working with Bootstrap anyway in another project), and I'm adding my YAC address to my signature in unrelated forums. I'm super busy right now so that's it for the next couple weeks.

After that I'm hoping I can find the time to fork this https://github.com/mikegogulski/bitcoin-php, then code a WordPress plugin or set up some kind of digital goods shop.
