I have order# 1** for KnCMiner's first batch and would like to find a partner to assist with seed funds for the Jupiter Mars unit. This is to be the first of many ASIC units in a secure location and I would like to find a long-term partner to begin a small private mining operation. The fist step will be assistance with the initial Jupiter unit.

It appears Mars units will be the first to ship and anyone with a 1-500 order who purchases a Mars unit will keep their place in line for Jupiter. Therefore, the above request is no longer needed.

It seems they will give you a $2,000 voucher for the Jupiter unit and save your place in the queue if you order a Mars -- which will be the first unit to ship.

If so, how fast is it? (in Gh/s)

Did the Prototype actually reach the expected rated speed?

(Who's Chips are they using? Avalons? Or their own custom [ASIC] chips?)

My best guess is 6 given the pictures released (8 chips per board).

I can't answer this and don't think they've shown real world numbers (yet).

Speed is rated at "Over 6GH/s." The price might be high for 6GH/s but with a $2,000 voucher and held place in queue for Jupiter it isn't so bad. I suppose it will depend on how fast they can get units shipping.

The miner could based on what we've seen this far along with what is shown on site potentially be two modules of four boards and 48 chips giving 6gh/s with a potential optimisation of +30% by ORSoC.

We are waiting on proof in video form and an open day for forum members. There will be am and pm sessions dependant on numbers attending.

There will be another open day around the ASIC prototype assumed to be in a few weeks/couple of months.

From what I understand there is a numerical pre order queue based on time one had expressed interest in KnCminer's site the past month or two. Working down that line those at the beginning of the queue are given first refusal to pre order mars and possibly the ASICs (but not sure). The Mars buyers are automatically positioned at the top of the queue for the ASIC delivery and don't have to pay for the ASIC products until it's open day. They are also given $2k discount on the $7k ex VAT Jupiter. Don't know of there is a discount for Saturn.

The 30% performance upgrade is expected on the 125 Gh/s and 250 Gh/a ASIC miners as well.

Mars is a proof of concept FPGA, and design refinement prior to confirming the final mask revision to be used on the ASIC.

This is basically my understanding, but they need to clear this up for everyone.
