NEWBIE HERE!!

Looking for some help with making first-time btc buys using PayPal/cc. I'm not sure where to buy from and the whole process seems pretty complex and overbearing, is Coinbase a good place to start? if not, can somebody please point me in the right direction? Any advice is greatly appreciated. Seriously, thank you.
P.S. Apologies for the high level of a novice in these questions.

Thanks again to anybody willing to help!

Using Paypal for buying bitcoins is impossible, risky or/and very expensive.
Paypal has a payback feature that bitcoin have not : this very more secure for bitcoin, but nobody will sold you some bitcoin if you pay with a payback system like Paypal.
There is a lot of thiefs that are trying buying btc with Paypal (and not only btc).

Bitcoin + privacy respect = BitcoinZ (topic BitcoinZ)

you usually can not use Paypal in a decent place because first of all it is against Paypal's ToS to use their services for trading any kind of digital currency (which means bitcoin) second is the issue with the charge back so nobody trusts Paypal with bitcoin since one has it and the other does not. so all the places are either shady or have very high prices to cover the risks.

and as for CC (Credit Card?) you will need to go through the tedious task of verifying your identity because that is how the fiat system demands it to be like. Coinbase is good, there is also CEX.io which is a decent place for using CC.

Coinbase is more expensive than others, but its very easy one.
you can try also gemini or bitstamp depends on ur country of origin.

Bank is so much easier to buy with than Paypal because Paypal can be chargebacked. There are some places that u can buy bitcoin with paypal but its expensive.

Coinbase isn't expensive. It's cheaper than ATMs and localbitcoins.com. Coinbase is also safer than PayPal. Use Coinbase, keep a little bit there for spending but move most of your coins elsewhere...to an offline wallet.

For all topics Bitcoin, check out the BTC Sessions YouTube channel. It's phenomenal.

Welcome to the world of Bitcoin, bud. We're glad to have you here!

Coinbase, Gemini, GDAX, Bitfinex. Coinbase is the easiest though by far.

Hi there!

If you're looking into buying Bitcoins for the first time and don't want to go through the hassle of using Paypal I would recommend using a Bitcoin ATM. Just search where you closest Bitcoin ATM is and it should appear. The process is really painless and you'll receive your coins within 20 minutes.

You'll get much more informative answers if you tell us what country you're in.

You might be in a place where Coinbase is the only decent option, or the worst of many. Different countries have radically different Bitcoin landscapes.

The best bitcoin place to buy bitcoins that I know is the one that I have in my banner.

At the moment of upload your ID (today is imposible buy bitcoins without showing your ID) you can add a watermark with photoshop. The watermark should have at least the date and the name of the web, that's optional but safer. Good luck and welcome Wink

I would recommend Coin Base to buy coins if you are based in North America, otherwise you can try using www.btcc.com The chinese version of this is closing down, but the international version will continue to accept clients.

I would avoid using Paypal as it is easy to get frauded that way. Also avoid localbitcoins due to the high risk of fraud.

Best of luck!

You will pay fees of up to 0.25% if you buy through Coinbase. If you buy at a price above or below market on GDAX (coinbase's exchange) you do not pay fees.

If anyone sells you BTC via paypal they're the newbie.  You can reverse paypal transactions but you can't reverse bitcoin transactions.

Always check the address that you will send it. because if you did you can't recover it and a very small amount of percentage of getting it recovered if the guy is nice enough to give your money back to you so always check your address

If coinbase is not supported in your country, you can use a credit card to buy bitcoin on the Bitstamp exchange. It is a regulated exchange from Luxembourg.
