Hi There,

I sent bitcoin funds to a merchant who was using Electrum and they said they never received the funds.  They used Coinsimple to generate an invoice with the address and the merchant has verified the address is correct and associated with his wallet.  The merchant sent me a screenshot of the wallet, using Electrum 2.8.2

Any ideas would be helpful, it was a fairly large sum.  Here is the transaction info:

Thanks in advance!

There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, which will follow the rules of the network no matter what miners do. Even if every miner decided to create 1000 bitcoins per block, full nodes would stick to the rules and reject those blocks.

It's very likely a problem on his side. Tell him to try one of the following solutions.

1. Enter wallet.clear_history() in his Electrum console and restart.
2. Restore the wallet again with the same seed/private key.
3. Change the server at Tools -> Network -> Unmark "Select server automatically" -> Right click a server from the list -> choose "Use as server".

Send them the link to the transaction: https://blockchain.info/tx/f1f6a0d8a24a6fac35fa6b4f673e5ce3d820c400db73f798b15aa0b9abf52268

Along with a screenshot of your wallet with the transaction showing... Then ask them to supply the goods or services you have paid for.

The transaction has over 1760 confirmations and has been confirmed since 6th September.

They're either trying to scam you or they don't know how their wallet works and/or how to fix it. They say you should never attribute to malice that which can be explained by incompetence... But something seems fishy here.
