I am trying to retreive BCH from a Copy wallet using the instructions at https://blog.bitpay.com/bitcoin-cash-recovery/  , and the tool at  https://bitpay.github.io/copay-recovery/  ; it does not work .

Background and what I have done:

Before August 1st   I have transferred some bitcoin  into two Copay Wallet  , let's call them W1 and W2 . (about 0.7 BTC to W1, and 0.4 BTC to W2).
Following the instructions at  https://blog.bitpay.com/bitcoin-cash-recovery/ , I have moved the BTC from these into a third wallet.  The transactions left   0.000062 BTC in W1    , and 0.00000 BTC in W2 .

For each of the wallet I have inserted the 12 word  recovery phrase into the recovery at tool https://bitpay.github.io/copay-recovery/   .
The results of the scan were   0.000062 for W1   and   0   for W2 .
So the scan detects the correct wallets - but showing the current amounts, and not the amounts before the fork .

I have also tried using the wallet of bitcoin.com   (... which looks like a derivative of Copay) set to Bitcoin Cash  -  importing W1 with the 12 word phrase.  It showed zero .

Can anyone help?

Are you sure you are selecting the "bch/livenet" chain instead of the "btc/livenet" one? Since the tool is showing your BTC balance instead of the BCH available, this may be the problem.

Also, you can confirm if you have BCH in those addresses by searching them at blockdozer.com/insight/

Edit: You can now scan your wallet for BCH balances directly from the wallet beta app by going to "Settings" and clicking on “Scan wallets for BCH".

TryNinja, thank you very much !

I can see the BCC balance on  the original address of one of the wallets (W2)  on   blockdozer.com/insight  .

Before I try again  for the recovery with bitpay.com ,
**seems there is a problem with the bitcon-cash version of bitcoin.com wallet**
into which I was trying to send BCC

Before seeing your reply above, I decided to try another website that offeres a recovery tool,   btc.com  (https://blog.btc.com/how-to-recover-your-trapped-bitcoin-cash-from-other-wallets-24b929543f26)  .
I did so with hesitation, as it is an online wallet.  in any event, I was able to recover the BCC from wallet W1  and I have sent it to an address of the bitcoin.com  bitcoin cash wallet .
Blockdozer does show the transaction,  and the unspent balance in the receiving address  .
However,  the bitcon.com wallet (which has this address)  shows zero balance after I scan for funds.

I see the iPhone Copay wallet beta supporting BCC is not there yet, so I should look for an alternative.

TryNinja or anyone else :

- can you recommend a bitcoin cash wallet for iOS (and preferably desktop) that is not online, known to be reliable, and open source?

- which would be the most established exchanges that trade BCC ?

Thank you.

I think poloniex support bitcoin cash and bitfinex also do.
For a wallet, i'd suggest electron cash from electroncash.org. I think it's the only other wallet compatable that are on mobile and desktop and are not web wallets (they do use the internet though to download block headers and verify those - which takes a few seconds to do).
