new to mining

Hi everyone,

I am new to bitcointalk.org and also mining.

can you please tell me what is the best currency to mine at the moment 2017,

i am using old PC
amd athlon 64 x2 3ghz
 4 gb ram ddr2
and
2x r290 2gb each cross fire mode

i tried running ethereum mining it gives me error saying

PU0 - not enough GPU memory to place DAG, you cannot mine this coin with this GPU
GPU0 - OpenCL error -61 - cannot allocate big buffer for DAG. Check readme.txt for possible solutions.
GPU1 - not enough GPU memory to place DAG, you cannot mine this coin with this GPU

i don't thing this will get work with eth as i can .. you can try using monero mining which will work nice as this coin is growing less difficult and more return . IF you find any problem i can help you how to start you miner and mining monero coin ..

why you don't try to mining with minergate software or nicehash software? because I think it will give best adjustment for choosing the coins. beside that, the software will trying to select the best coins for you to mining. I don't think that mining eth can makes you profit since the difficulty of the eth is increase too.

try to read some of the posts on mining, i think that 4GB gpus cannot take up the DAG memory for mining eth.

you can't mine eth with 2gb memory. Try to mine zec or try to mine with nicehash software.
