On many interactive charts (cointrading for example), I have found that if I click on a candle, i get little white dots appearing on many of the candles.  If i click away from the candles they disappear.
Are those important inflection points? Are they every 10th candle and if so what is their usefulness? What exactly are they?

I don't see how to embed an image.  Here is an image I put up on my website.

I am not referring to the whiskers, but the little white dots that appear if you click on any candle in an interactive chart.
I see this in many tools, so it must be a pretty standard thing

Yeah it is hard to know exactly what you are describing without a picture for ourselves. From what I am gathering though, it sounds like you are describing the "wick" or "whiskers"

of the candle. This article can explain quite well about candlesticks and wicks : http://www.investopedia.com/walkthrough/forex/beginner/level3/candlestick.aspx

I've wondered this as well.  I searched quite a bit on Google and can't find what they are.

I think they are trying to show the trend in fixed interval of time.

Guy, show the complete screen shot. The axis have references on them that tell the reader what's being measured. Without those axis references this means nothing to us.

We can help you but you need to give us a complete picture of the question you're asking!

They probably reference time intervals but they could also reference key areas of support or weakness in the price.

They are spaced every 10 bars, mid-stick, no matter the zoom level.http://gauldin.org/temp/chart.PNG
