Hello, Bitcoin Talk!

I'm quite new to Bitcoin and for now I'm using an online wallet until I can get a desktop wallet. If I google search this plenty of websites and blogs will come up saying which service is the best, but I want to hear you all's opinion on your favorite online wallet, according to handling your Bitcoin balance, transaction fees, etc.

If there is already a post about this, which I'm sure there is, I'd love a link Smiley!

Thank you!

Haha, I didn't know block chain was a wallet, I thought it was just used to check balance. Thanks a lot! I probably go with Blockchain, I've been using Mt.Gox for a little bit and I just wanted to see my alternatives.

Blockchain.info is probably the best non-exchange online wallet going around.

https://blockchain.info/wallet is the ONLY online wallet I'm aware of that I would trust.

Make sure that you get a backup of your wallet from them.

coinbase to buy using your checking account
electrum brain wallet to hoard them locally, although I'm still having trouble figuring out how exactly electrum works.

Well i think it connects to an electrum server where the blockchain is stored so you dont have to store the chain locally
in your computer.

Thats why it syncs so fast.

online wallets = bad. Keep your wallet on a machine you control, and keep it safe by putting on usb drive when not in use. No sense getting your money stolen.

Blockchain.info by far, but you're always better off using a wallet that only you have the private key to.

I like coinbase for getting bitcoin, and now for paying for the humble bundle games.
I like bitmits wallet for buying stuff on their site.
You should never keep a large balance in any online wallet though for several reason, not just for safety but also that you are giving these online wallets some power to manipulate bitcoin prices.

Blockchain all the way, but I strongly recommend some type of backup. Best option is some usb flash disk or some other media storage device. Also I read on several places that people store theirs backup wallets on computers that are not connected to internet.
