Hi

Is it safe to go to "View wallet info", on the MyEtherWallet-site, and pasting my private key in there to get info on the wallet?
Or should I never use this wallet again if I paste my private key there once?

The reason is that I have written down a public key and a private key, but I want to make sure that they are connected to each other. I think they are but I want to be a 100% sure, before I send tokens to this wallet.

I made the wallet a few months back and I have written down the private and the public key, in two different locations, and I am 99% sure that they are connected to each other, and part of the same wallet. But before I send tokens to the public adress I want to be sure. So that I can access my tokens in the future.

Now, is that safe to do from a security-standpoint? Or will I compromise the private key by pasting it into the "view wallet info" field once while online?
Maybe this can be done while offline. And maybe that would be better?

It is safe - if you are 100% sure that you are on a safe machine and a secure connection, where nobody will be able to spoof your private key. Because as you understood correctly, once someone has access to your private key, your funds are gone. Also make sure you use the correct website, and not accidentely enter your private key on a phishing website.

If you paste that on the real myetherwallet web address than thats totally safe because it's that made of. But you should rather use just your address to view info about balances and transactions.

Its safe if you use the real myetherwallet website and not the phising site that usually been sent via email, slack or in text messages. Your every action always need to proceed with caution .Install the metamask or etheraddresslookup(EAL) to be more secured.

What about with keystore file? Can it be accessed if my phone is infected?
