I know that we have the Bitcoin client, and googling around i also find a Bitcoin Java API and even some python wallet scripts.

Does anyone know of a site that lists various bitcoin software resources?

Unlike traditional banking where clients have only a few account numbers, with Bitcoin people can create an unlimited number of accounts (addresses). This can be used to easily track payments, and it improves anonymity.

So how about source code resources? I am a developer and have some ideas for an alternative type of bitcoin client. Instead of writing everything from scratch I would like to reuse as much as possible.

Here is what I have so far:

The Bitcoin clienthttps://github.com/bitcoin/bitcoin
python bitcointoolhttps://github.com/gavinandresen/bitcointools
BitcoinJhttp://code.google.com/p/bitcoinj/

I was once using Bitp.it Browser Mining and now use BitcoinPlus (in action!)

I believe the Bitp.it code is out there to be worked on if you have the time Wink
