Maybe you should try a real exchange maybe bittrex or poloniex (support sucks) Shapeshift or any other clone is doing same thing with e fee. they buy and send from other exchanges.

Hey guys, let us clarify! We charge 0.5% for each crypto-to-crypto exchange. Fees are included to the rate, it's pretty clear on calculation page. For the USD payment rates are provided by our bank cards processing partner, we are working to make it lower. We are providing back ground trading for you on Bittrex, Poloniex and few other partners. Our support is ready to help you in 24/7 in case of any issues. We have no amount restrictions for exchange and guarantee that your crypto funds will be exchanged instantly at the best available rate, once we get confirmation of your payment in blockchain. Anyway we always suggest you to check rates on different services before the exchange, as each of them is charging for the transaction, it may be included to price or not. You are welcome to http://Changelly.com

it is not at all the same thing. actually it is very different when you think about it. services like ShapeShift are offering an instant way to exchange one thing to another without needing to register (sign up) wait then withdraw,... it is fast and a little bit more private. services like bittrex which are known as exchanges require registration and in some cases even verification of your account before you are able to trade or withdraw. it takes longer time but you have the option to place an order on the price you like, and so many other options for "trading".

shapeshift and changelly are very easy to use and this allows us to quickly change our coins. Depending on the time it is necessary to look at who is the most interesting ... but most often it seems to be shapeshift

Shapeshift charge a miners fee - but their miners fees vary considerably: https://info.shapeshift.io/aboutSo basically open both platforms and test to see which would give you the most in the particular transaction, before proceeding.

Both Changelly and Shapeshift are great for trading. If you are a small trader, use Shapeshift. Changelly is for big trades that support multiple bitcoins at a time.

Poloniex would be the cheapest exchanger if I were to choose. But between the two I think shapeshift is much cheaper but it charges miners fee though. So it's still kinda the same.

I haven't used them much (I usually do my things in exchanges), but I checked them a few times, and changelly usually offers better prices. Of course you better perform 2 separate small trades thoroughly with both of them, see which one pays better at the end and choose precisely.

Which one of these two are the cheapest in general?
I know their fee structure is a bit different. One have the fees go to miners and the other one has the fees go to the owner of the site or something.
But in general.. Which of these two sites have the lowest fees when exchanging coins? Is it correct that Changelly takes about 0,5%, which is about a half a percent of the whole amount exchanged?
Shapeshift isn't cheap, but they also no longer work for US residents apparently. Look on their website and there's a big diatribe about the US government wanting to invade your privacy, etc. Too bad, too, because they were pretty useful. Don't know if changelly has the same issues, but I may have to give them a try. Don't know what their fee is.

I opened it on my phone the other day and it seemed to be fine (asked for deposit/withdraw addresses), but I wasn't actually using it. I use a non-US IP address through VPN for any transactions, so I imagine this is easy to get around if so. All in all, I'm disappointed with the lack of coins supported on Shapeshift. I'd really like to see them support a wider array of currencies/tokens, but it seems like they mostly just remove them these days....

Their website said exactly what I wrote above. I just tried changelly and it worked great. I'll be using them from now on, or at least until they block US residents too. The government needs to keep their hands out of our pockets. I'm getting so sick of it.

Cheapest is trading yourself on a good exchange. First you have to sell to get BTC or ETH or USD and then buy the needed coin so paying fees twice for 2 transactions. Changelly and Shapeshift probably do the same for you behind the scenes and add their own fee on top on exchange trading fees. Changelly may be cheaper than Shapeshift by a small amount.
