I'm in for 10 once a BTC transfer is processed. Hopefully sometime today...
with your 10, once ordered, we will reach 50/50 on our group buy.

MikeMike, 1 unit on this group buy is 2.2218, so 2.2218-2.03636 (you sent) - .0299 (your overpayment in group 2) = 0.15554 due when you get a chance, please send the remaining 0.15554 Thanks, Canary I'm trying to verify an account with coinbase. Or if there is another way I will pursue it to get the payment for another 4-9 pieces. Once order closes and I did not have ability to get any more BTC to fulfill at least 5pcs I will send balance. This way it does not get too confusing "on my end". Hope my reasoning explains the amount I sent. I use www.bitinstant.com when I need bitcoins really quick... you can use a money gram location and as soon as you deposit cash, bitcoins are sent to an address you specify on your order. Disclaimer: I do not assist with using bitinstant.

Yep, I've used bitinstant.com several times, because I don't want to give my driver's license etc. to anyone (dwolla, gox, etc.), and never had a problem. Can just deposit the cash at my nearby CVS and usually have a confirmation by the time I get home .

Drolla/bitinstant I believe was closed down in USA
Nope. Just the Dwolla/MtGox connection. I used Dwolla to fund CampBX earlier this week and I used bitinstant today to fund MtGox to get the last few coins I needed for the group buy. You can also use bitinstant directly to buy BTC, but if you have a MtGox account already, I'd recommend that instead because you have better control over the purchase price which can be a little wonky via bitinstant sometimes. I noticed that CampBX will also do MoneyGram today, but haven't tried it yet to see if it goes via zipzap or not. That zipzap fee is annoying.

They now require your SSN to do anything.. Bitinstant is alive and well, though they certainly have some fees for their service. I've used them in the past couple days to get in on these orders. I'd definitely recommend Walmart for the local payment site, as they allow you to pay with either cash or a pin-based debit card. The others seem to only accept cash.

That's good to know! I'll just go to Walmart instead Saves having to stop off at the ATM on the way to CVS.

OK thanks, Do you mean I can "With a SS #" and bitinstant sent money TO ""ANY BTC ADDRESS"" Or do I not need a SS # with just using biinstant ? I can't remember whether SS# was involved but the first time you use it you register a phone number and street address at least when you're at the red MoneyGram phone. In subsequent transactions, I've only been asked to provide my phone number.

OK thanks, Do you mean I can "With a SS #" and bitinstant sent money TO ""ANY BTC ADDRESS"" Or do I not need a SS # with just using biinstant ? Bitinstant does not need a SSN, just name/address/phone (they don't seem to check an ID even). Dwolla though changed their terms of service a while back apparently. Because of these group buys I was looking to buy some BTC, and was looking for ways to do so (last time I did was back in the Dwolla/MtGox days). It seems that Dwolla now requires a SSN for pretty much anything (and even with a SSN, you still cannot send to MtGox). Seemed a little excessive to me. I was surprised at how few options there actually are to buy into BTC. Bitinstant certainly is decent (their payments do get processed very fast, virtually instant). Still, ideally I think you could ideally have a credit card -> BTC processor. I understand there isn't one because of the potential for chargebacks, but it seems to me that BTC transactions would be very easy to prove to Visa/MC.

And yeah, bitinstant allows cash to be deposited directly to exchanges, or straight to a destination BTC address of your choosing.

Yes, I don't think bitinstant does much, but I'm pretty sure MoneyGram demanded my drivers license number and verified it the first time I used it. And it seems like they've stored that info linked it to my phone number so that I don't have to repeat the process. The cashier doesn't check ID. I think zipzap and or bitinstant are able to rely on MoneyGram to link identities/transactions and comply with the Know Your Customer regulations. i.e. if the Feds show up asking about a bitinstant transaction they can tell the Feds which zipzap transaction it was, the Feds can then ask zipzap and zipzap can give them the MoneyGram info and finally they ask MoneyGram and MoneyGram has the KYC document verification (in my case drivers license number was probably cross checked with registration databases during the MoneyGram interview).
