Satoshi Nakamoto currently has a page on Wikipedia, however it looks like the page will go away. the page was originally marked for deletion, a discussion ensued, and they abruptly closed the discussion and concluded that it should be merged with the Bitcoin article. Despite the majority of those involved expressing interest in keeping the page.

If you are familiar with the wikipedia processes I would encourage you to participate in helping Satoshi keep his rightful place at Wikipedia.

The Bitcoin network protocol was designed to be extremely flexible. It can be used to create timed transactions, escrow transactions, multi-signature transactions, etc. The current features of the client only hint at what will be possible in the future.

It's hard to justify a page for a persistent nym we don't even know is a real person.

Satoshi could be Tim May with Alzheimer's.

that looks like a detectives homework, not a wikipedia article.

Edit: and thus, yes i agree, it does somewhat warrant deletion

Ok maybe I'm an anomaly here in thinking that the creator of Bitcoin, a brilliant entity (his real name is irrelevant) who created the worlds first decentralized "currency" isn't worth having a page on Wikipedia :-)

It's not that I don't think the actions merit an article, but I don't think enough is really known about the person to distinguish him from the project as a whole.

I think he diffidently deserves a page, a small bio, some financial information, education, and a section on bitcoin. But the article as it stands is not wikipedia material, and yes his real name and as an extension of that, definitive information with cited sources are all very important.

I would rather preserve his own page than combine it. If not now, it will be that way again in time. I'm certain of it.
