I have noticed an emerging trend where at least 90% of new cryptocurrencies at one point in their first month of release to exchanges will fall way below their ico price so why don't I just wait for that point and buy instead of buying during an ico?

I'm always trying to catch dumps after coins get listed at exchanges. As a rule the price soon gets back to ICO price. It's good opportunity to make good profit!

I also think the same with you, I prefer to buy in exchange when the price falls, because I believe if we buy at a price below ico it will give us a big advantage.

In the past it was almost always better to buy in the ICO.
Recently though, I would be much more careful. There are many more scams so it may be better to wait and see if the release is smooth and wheter they start delivering.

Really depends on the coin. If you're buying crappy ICO's then they will probably dump after the ICO. If it's a good coin it should pump after the ICO when it hits the exchange.

What you are saying is true, what ever the coin project and worthy it is , when it get listed and when that coin bounty is delivered that time you can see the selling pressure in that coin and you will get way below the ICO price and that time you can buy if the coin has worth to buy because some coin just get dead and you also get saved by this type of scam ICO.

Centra just like the best example for your question. The dev doesn't locked the contract and the ico participant can dump their token as fast as possible nor buy in the cheap price on the exchange sites. But will better to buy in exchange site if the price will be more cheap rather than the ico.

It depends on if you believe in what they have to offer and how strongly you believe. I think the better ICO's for well put together coins would be better to buy at the ICO rather then later. Sometimes if it is a pos coin you get a month of extra staking before it hits the exchange.

This isn't accurate always I suppose. But it is realistic claim. I also agree that we shouldn't buy into speculation right after ico, there will always be some people making money over those dumps.

It depends on the coin. If I really believe in a project, I invest in ICO to get some bonuses as well. If I hesitate to invest, I don't risk and wait for the coin hits the exchanges and see how the market behaves.

Just purchase the coins right after the ICO. If you really want the coins then you could wait a little bit after the ICO finishes so you could exchange it on an altcoin exchange.

sometimes the crappy ico gives you a huge profit and that can be considered as a better token than the airdrop token which just like to give your money as a charity to the airdrop participant. I buy KNC and it was traded above the ico price.

Before buying any coins from any ICOs just see to it that you have studied their white papers, road maps, their teams and their product or services. There are some ICOs are copying their concepts from existing ICOs which make them common, it is better to buy ICOs that is unique and sustainable. If you have enough knowledge and confident about the ICO then it is good to buy during ICO, but if you are not sure of it then buy after on an exchange listings.

I don't see an issue with that. If you don't feel comfortable investing in ICO then buy it on exchange. no problem. Does price fall after ICO? sometimes it does, other times it goes up so you might not get a chance to buy on exchange without waiting.

you are right basically any ico is following this trend i remember even lisk was in this thing, dropped under 40k satoshi ico price, but the bottom is not very far from the ico price so investors don't lose much anyway

The advantage of getting the coins while in ICO or pre-ICO is you get some bonuses which you cannot get when it is already out in the exchanges. If you know the project have real values, then you it is better to get while it have bonuses. You cannot be sure that the price will drop when it hits the exchanges.
