Well, I can see the reason of the government if they want to regulate crypto. I understand the situation that it currently have a large market value that they can milk with.

its a bit strange how non chinese talk about China gov. BAN cryptos and etc.. when USA's gov did the same thing with ICO in the freedomland.. the truth is both of them want to rule the world and will be against decentralization... no matter what they are saying.

It is a possibility that bitcoin price will go to the moon. I guess it will go towards 20000-50000 in 1-3 years. China is the main producer of bitcoin and knows what is doing to protect its people and their wealth. If I were Chinese and the biggest producer of bitcoin I would the same. Of course I would want to have all the bitcoin that I produce for me and appreciate its value.

i don't see any ban for any cryptocurrency in China! people are still using cryptocurrencies. they are investing in them, they are mining them and holding and spending bitcoin! the localbitcoins volume from China is once again starting to grow.
and on top of it all the government of China has said that OTC trading of bitcoin is allowed for anyone who wants to do it.

the game is just a market manipulation by whales and they are using China just because nobody is able to verify it or better said everyone is too lazy to verify the lies. even Chinese themselves are saying "all you hear is FUD"

I can sympathize with that, but there's no way around it. Bitcoin can't go to the moon and not attract the attention of governments and regulators. And we can't stop it from going to the moon. That's just a matter of supply and demand.

The more authoritarian governments definitely see cryptocurrency as a threat to their authority with regard to monetary policy. And in general, all governments are going to want a piece of the tax revenue generated by all the investment. They might even start to hedge their assets with crypto someday.

I hope they are only playing a game but I believe it's unlikely based on what I've read they just want to protect their people from scam ico, that is why they are regulating it, this news hampered the growth of bitcoin and we are in limbo because the price is going up and down.

I don't understand why are we even bothered to look what China can do or won't do. China market share is less than 10% and even that will disappear and move to Hong Kong and Japan. It's about time that this was to happen. I feel China won't be able to influence the market anymore, and it's like of Japan and Russia that will lead the prices up and running. Time to move on from China.

It's really really hard to predict what china will do. Maybe they think they have the power to shut down crypto in this still early stage to maintain their power over their people. They know that crypto can't be stopped and for that way they have to make the best out of it. Regulate it as much and good as possible. And of course they would try to have leading role if they can't stop it.

In my opinion we will find out which path China is taking before 2017 ends.

they still have an impact to make some shake because there are many people still new to this industry, so every moment that they do some action those newcomers and weak holders are reacting thinking that the value is controlled by china not thinking that whales are also just around and waiting for them

I am agree with you. when bitcoin price down they try to buy huge amount and hold .you can see  bitcoin price 3000$ for last week.and many people afraid and sell there bitcoin.china play a game for bitcoin and hope after few month or week bitcoin again pump

It's rumored that they are planning to ban mining...which would be a total clusterfuck in the crypto world if they do that. The previous bans would be nothing compared to the effects a mining ban would have...
