Did you even bother to look at the link I posted. It has well established members on this forum talking about methods of connecting power to these Modminers (hint - people have been mining with them already for quite some time). This device was not made yesterday - it's been out for a while. Whoever put up the eBay auction simply linked the modminer homepage pic for his/her auction. Caveat emptor? More like failure to read....

They are real, but I wouldn't buy anything from them.
A) They were overpriced to begin with. B) Tom moved his MMQ business and started "developing" ASICs, and was selling a 72GH/s bASIC. The project flopped, Tom went off the deep end, and all of his customers basically got screwed. C) ASICs from ASICMiner, Avalon, and even BFL are starting to pour in, making this useless.

It looks way over priced! I got two used 7970 for about $315 including shipping, per unit. I get 0.746GH/s on about 290W. Way less bucks!

What exactly happened? How'd he screw everyone over? Just curious He took a bunch of pre-orders for his bASIC product line and tied up people's money for 5-6 months or more. I don't think everyone was equally screwed over though. Most of the people who paid with credit cards were quickly refunded. I had several CC orders and every penny of every one of them was refunded. For those people who paid in BTC it was a different story. The refunds were a lot slower, and to make things worse because the USD value of BTC had gone up they got a lot less BTC back. It is also not clear to me whether everyone got paid back fully.
