Blockchains with almost instant transaction confirmation?

A good friend (experienced Node JS developer) and me thinking about to develop a proof of concept for an idea based on the blockchain technology. The use case we consider does not exist yet. However, the prerequisite is to have a blockchain with almost instant durable confirmation of the transactions. The confirmation time should not be longer than 2-3 seconds (up to 5 seconds would be acceptable, too). Are there such blockchains? And if so, is the security of the transaction ensured at such low confirmation times? Would be grateful to any hint.

It's not real. The transaction will be longer. As a confirmation may be faster than transaction. In addition as will increase the number of transactions this time will still increase. I do not believe in such projects and advise you not to.
