This should go to the Web Wallets section of the forum.

Not much familiar in this wallet but I see that it's an online wallet. I suggest you download Electrum on a laptop/machine that isn't connected to the internet and send your coins to it if you want to keep it indefinitely. Old cellphones that are capable of installing new bitcoin wallets for android can also be a good offline wallet provided that you won't connect it to the internet. The general notion about web wallets is they are prone to being hacked unlike the device that you personally keep and manage.

Instead of going to the web wallets section of this forum, go directly to CryptoCompare.com to look up this wallet and the reviews that come with it.

This site will help you evaluate that specific wallet and if the reviews are poor it will help you find a better option. This site is the best location to compare bitcoin wallets, exchanges, and other things.

Good luck to you!

I think that payeer is safe, because i use it for a long time, and it have a good reputation, but for me, I don't think that it worth for saving a high amount of bitcoin. I like to use blockchain than any ohter web wallet, because it's more secure and it's easy to use and also bitcoin transactions fees are OK for me.

Hold on payeer is the worst thing that can do.

In order of worst to better solution:

Payeer -> coinbase -> xapo ->  blockchain.info  -> Desktop wallet -> paper wallet  -> hardware wallet

Here more info about wallets : https://bitcoin.org/en/choose-your-wallet

In order to stay safe for a long term there are 2 important things to considerate:
1- Have the private keys, to have priv keys use : (blockchain.info ,desktop wallets...........hardware wallets)
2- Don't have to write your priv key on your computer: some desktop wallets (but I'm not sure how to do it safely, is quite complicated), paper wallets (if you use a new one each  time) or hardware wallets.

In conclusion: Hardware wallets are the perfect wallet.

PS: I use Ledger Nano s, works very well and is not very expensive ( https://www.ledgerwallet.com/ )

I will say a big NO, payeer is another centralized payment gateway which can shutdown over night or can be seized by FBI for involving in money laundering just like how they have taken down liberty reserve before.

Withdraw those bitcoin out of your payeer and store it in paper or hardware wallet if you are looking to hold them for long time.

You wrote that you have "few bit coins" in your Payeer BTC wallet, that means a few thousand dollars. This amount of money worths:
-to care about it better than just holding it in an online web wallet (as it was mentioned before, if the service provider shuts down the service overnight, your can say goodbye to your coins, you can't claim it back)
-the price of a decent hardware wallet (Trezor, Ledger Nano S, etc.) is really cheap compared to the value of those bitcoins you store in your Payeer wallet, so you should really think it over and buy at least one hardware wallet and move your coins into it.
That is my two cents.

Do you think it will be OK to hold up in payeer btc wallet so do I need to think about something else?

Do you have a verified payeer account?

I use payeer and I have to say that their service is good, but they are slow in the question of verification of account and this is not a good sign, if for example one day they ask you for some document and your document is rejected and your account is restricted you will not withdraw your bitcoin, for that reason I think you should look for a more secure bitcoin wallet to save your btc

many have given good suggestions of good wallets

If you are planning on holding any sum of bitcoin for the long term, you should not keep it in a place where you cannot access your own private keys and the security of your funds is entirely up to payeer's management.

It's much better to get even an electrum desktop wallet, or even better, a hardware wallet like ledger or trezor.

Trust me, payeer's not safe at all. Hopefully you'll never have to go through what it feels like when you lose money because of you not holding your own keys.

If you wanted to be safe for a long term much better to use electrum instead and backup the private keys or 12 word phrase in the safety place notepad or much better put it in the notepad and keep it in the hard drive which is different letter in your drive ..

Honestly i am using payeer also for a long time but not in bitcoin but never had any problem of using the service of payeer since 2015 so i think your bitcoin there could be safe..

Your idea sounds very bad. Payeer is not good place to keep bitcoins, especially bigger amounts. There are plenty better wallets to keep btc. If you want to keep bitcoins safely, you need to have full control it - access your private keys. If you are looking for online wallet, I can recommend Blockchain.info, but still, it's not perfect choise. It would be better to use desktop wallet like Electrum. And safest place to hodl btc is hardware wallets like Ledger Nano S.

Payeer is sort of like perfectmoney and libertyreserve. Pretty much you don't need to go through any verification in order to use their service and it is probably only a matter of time that their assets gets seized by the FBI, like what happened with LR and e-gold.

Anyways no. Payeer is not a safe way at all. You don't have any control over the funds.

You're probably better off using even coinbase if you were using payeer. The safest way to store bitcoin is through a hardware wallet/paper wallet.

If you store a few millibits or in general not a huge sum of money on payeer then you should be alright. The convenience can definitely be worth the risk especially if you use payeer frequently as a payment processor.

However if you are only using payeer as an online bitcoin wallet, and are storing a few whole bitcoins in it, then reconsider. You don't hold your private keys. You don't know where payeer is even located(their address doesn't really check out). You don't know whether they will disappear the next day or not.

Whole point of bitcoin is about decentralization. Even using blockchain.info could be better than payeer and it's the same convenience.

You really have to put a lot of trust into payer to store funds with them, especially when the amounts are big in your case. Heck, they could close shop because the FBI has caught up to their shady business tomorrow for all i know.

It's not worth the risk, man.

All there is to identify payeer is their site and an unknown location that they call their address. Other than that, if they go scam, you'd be out of pocket thousands of bucks. Don't use them as a wallet. They are not supposed to be. They are a payment processor, not a bitcoin wallet. You should use web wallets like coin.space at least.

If you are really thinking of HODL-ing for a long term. It is best you try to reconsider now and not just base your decisions only on reputation cause they have been existing for a long time. Do you have control over your wallet (I guess you should know what I am referring to as control)... If you don't, then your assets are gone if anything happens to payeer tomorrow.
