In  every market  there are  whales  and  their  main purpose  it's  to generate  pump, but  also  to ACCUMULATE  PRECIOUS coins  at  a very cheap  price
Buying them without  make  noise,  or  rumors..

I think that this is close to the truth. Altcoins are holding close to the top in spite of certain amounts of pressure lately, a big breach could take them by storm under a significant event soon.

a whale goes for 10-20% gain in a couple of minutes. Do that a couple of times and they have their retirement fund. We the normal people just HODL for them long term 1000% gains and convert into a whale and make our own retirement fund. It's the circle of life

I've been watching Mysterium price charts lately and it looks like whale accumulation period during the past few days. Downtred suddenly stopped and reverted, trading volume increased, with a few big volume spikes. Still they try to keep the price relatively low. And all this just a few days before monthly development news are expected to be published.

Sometimes whales manipulating prices just by spoofing. They don't even need to put their own money on the line .. instead they watch how we do the dirty work for them :-)

The  whale's interest is to keep  this  price  lower as  possible  and  accumulating  little  by little , at a  cheap  price  because if  you move  100k  on a   fresh project ,  there are some  problems:

1)  the  price  of coin  will increase too soon

2)  if  a  project is  fresh  the whale doesn't  know  if it  will last or not in the future...  even promisuing  project  can FAIL... so  the  wahles  are intersted into buying  but AT THE  SAME TIME  to keep the price as lower as they can

It's  like an  elefant in a  jwellery.  It needs  to move slow.

I think the are a lot of whales at waves right now. Theyre trying to keep the price low, they have so many updates upcoming in the next months! Its a wonder that it hasnt pumped like hell for now. I think we will see some nice action in the next time!

Altcoins are like dead, and if whales are holding altcoins, we'll make crazy loss on altcoins soon once they sell their holdins.

I wish they made the altcoin prices down intentionally.

I agree that bigger whales really threatens the desire of people specially when price fluctuates, that's nightmare to those who depended their investments in bitcoin so seriously. As I saw the current price now it's really having uncertainties, which those smaller fish easily think negative ideas that's why panic happens slightly nowadays.

Imo, the ones that haven't been pumped.  And mostly those are the Ethereum based ICO's listed after the bull run that happened last spring and ended around early June.  So yeah, tokens like BAT, CFI, SNT and the other more recent ones.

No he is not a whale. As soon as he uploads a new video many users buy the coin that he advertised so we will see a small spike in the price.
His main income comes from Udemy courses where 1000+ students are enrolled.

i agree this is the usual phase before the next pump, after a pump comes a dump and then a stagnation phase with accumulation and again another pump, i'm holding strong now and buy more cheap coins, but not everything some coins are meant to die

Whales may be confused now, I can't guess which coins they are accumulating. I think a analyser can find coins that is being accumulated.
