Also I have installed AMD-APP-SDK-v2.8, and I've tried with several versions of Catalyst video drivers including v12.8 which is recommended..

FIXED!!  lol, ok so for anyone making the same stupid mistake and getting this error all u have to do is change the 'device' from your cpu to some weird codename that will be listed for your gpu ie 'pitcairn' for me.  would have been nice for this to have been pointed out in tutorials!! Tongue
