the ideas are good but some can work somewhere and the same idea can not work in another country but about exchange bitcoin in Africa I don't think is a good idea because peoples whom deal with bitcoin are very few but to provide idea is good and some one can start from you post

I still do not know where people always get there information from. I am an African and there are so many exchanges already in Africa, at least from where I am from that makes transaction in fiats (both buying and selling) to be easy. You may think people who make use of bitcoin in Africa are quite few, but you will be surprised they are so much more than some other countries. You can also start by checking google trends for the continent or country with the most asked question on bitcoin.

Hi haroldtee, you are very correct, some people do not realise this, but a search on google will hopefully convince them. Not that it matters what they think really.

The buyer creates an escrow transaction, specifying the seller address, escrow address and amount of Ether. The smart contract locks the buyer's funds. When buyer receives the item, he can release the locked funds in the Dapp.

If a dispute happens, the escrow agent can step in to refund the buyer, or release funds to seller. At any point in time, the escrow agent NEVER has access to the funds, which eliminates one big security risk of transferring the entire transaction amount to the escrow.

In exchange for his service, escrow agent can charge a percentage fee set in the Dapp.

It is live at: http://escrowmyether.com/

Nice system. I'm impressed. Good design. The only nitpick I might offer is in addition to seller address, escrow address and quantity of ether metadata specified in the transaction, add a text field describing conditions of the transction involving goods/services bought/sold. That might help simplify disputes if the exact conditions are written in the transaction as if it were a legally binding document.

When it comes to escrow I think most are looking for long term reliability and brand name recognition. Banks, credit unions and other escrows enjoy such wonderful reputations that scams involving escrow in fiat are virtually unheard of. That could be the most important thing.

Hi,

After long search and many similar projects, the market needs new ideas and projects to fill the market and mature it, if you are looking to start something but dont know what, here are some ideas:

1- Exchange in Africa with african fiats.

2- Accept cash for ICOs.

3- Uber of everything but accepting/paying in Alt coins not just BTC (Everthing)

4- Craigslist of everything but accepting/paying in Alt coins not just BTC (Everything)

5- adsense alternative but accepting/paying in Alt coins not just BTC.

6- Scammers/fraud exposers wiki (You want to alert about someone, pay something very minimum, plus verification of the scam)

7- Huffington post cryptocurrencies alternative. (Freelance writers)

8- Global exchange ( Accepting all fiats, accepting all alt coins)

3, 4 & 7 someone should get us that quickly.
Great ideas for projects.
Number 6 is very necessary at the moment! It is impossible to understand now which project is a scaffold, and which one is not. Even the forum does not help. Spammed from fake accounts, they are advertising the project as they can. Many would like to check a particular project for a certain number of coins. Also an excellent chance to earn coins by checking various projects on the bench.

Completely agree with ccowl...

As for me.
I'm an investor on a p2p bitcoin lending site (btcpop.co), and we get a TON of scammers over there. Sometimes we find their usernames here as scammers (lucky), or vice versa.

I would love to create a database for scammers, and maybe this will be a project that I can end up undertaking... Either way, someone *definitely* should. It would be a great asset.

And badbitcoin is good, but they do websites. We need to find, and destroy the credibility of the people behind these websites, and scams. Be they people who took a 5 dollar (in bitcoin, obviously) loan and ran, or people on here selling fake services and such. We need to stand together.

Anything peer to peer requires a community that doesn't put up with garbage. Someone needs to take out the trash.  Angry
I have heard so much about lending services and I still have no idea how people go into this since it sounds to me as the most risky investment someone can ever do online.

Lending to someone you have no idea where they are from, who they are and no collateral at all. Correct me if I am wrong since I have never even bothered trying one out but it seems like crap to me cause no matter what some people are just there to get all you have and run away with it without a little bit of conscience and I see lending services as the greatest opportunity for them.

There's definitely risk. Almost all investing involves risk.
But if you do it right, there's goodly profits.

As for the collateral bit, the site actually does support it. You can use altcoins (most of them), or shares of site launched IPOs.

I've made quite a good profit from using the site. You learn pretty fast how to spot the lowlifes who are looking for a quick buck to run with. It won't be for everyone, but it assuredly isn't "crap".

There's a field for notes that appears when buyer clicks "show advanced options" on the new transaction page. It's not a perfect solution since it costs gas to input long strings of text, about 20K gas for 15 characters.

There's a reddit discussion thread for the Dapp if anyone's interested: https://www.reddit.com/r/ethereum/comments/74f5lh/my_dapp_is_complete_a_paypal_like_escrow_system/

The fully P2P transparent exchange is also needed. There are some projects, but all they need better UI / UX / marketing / dayly volume
P2P transparent exchange is available already worldwide and in most parts of Africa too. So, I do not see how this should be a new thing. I have been using remiatno's P2P service for a very long time now and it has been awesome for both buying and selling of bitcoin in exchange with my fiat within few minutes with a great escrow. Sure, having more will make it worthwhile but at least we can promote the few ones we already have.

Impressive ideas i like all of them especially the 4th and 6th one. But to implement these ideas more popularity of cyptcocurrencies needed, cryptocurreny awareness and users community need to extend more. Btw keep it up mate.

The global exchange isnone of the biggest here. You need to be brave and go toe to toe with the officials and different country and you must have a vision on one goal and that will be hard to do.
Wiki leaks on scammers on the other hand will be hard because online everyone can have a fake identity and they will just create a new account to scam other people again.
If we're going in the big figures then we must at least contact a task force regarding that.
Nice Ideas by the way.

Good list, and it deserves a bump. Hopefully well meaning investors with the funds to burn , will see the OP and investigate further. There is so much scope for growth in the market and community.

Number 8 is what we all people need, because we want an easy life, then having an exchange that accept everything will be a good thing start on so everyone can access it. Also there are not many crypto exchanges available with respect to the number of people using the fiat exchanges. If i was to start the new project i would definitely pick this one.

I would have the same selection too on which i would pick up that number 8 since it would really be a profitable investment or business after all but i would say this wont really be an easy thing and i would say you would really need to comply lots of documents before you can able to start one knowing that fiat currency involvement would really need legality.

Your ideas are great but it's not easy to do. For example the 6th idea, how can you find out the profile of scammers? When someone wanna scam your money you will never know their real profile such as HYIP sites, it's possible to find out the owner of any HYIP sites that why a lot of people can't take their money back when they got scammed by these website.

First option is IP address. Second option could be any number of things. It might seem hopeless but there may be methods which could be utilized. Some scammers use proxy, VPN or TOR. Many law enforcement and intelligence agencies in the world own or operate proxies and VPN's expressly for the purpose of collecting data on criminals using the internet. To some degree proxies and VPN's can be backtracked. TOR could be more difficult but there may be ways to collect data on scammers there, too.

I wonder sometimes if more proactive methods could be used to cut down on the number of scams in crypto. Those placed in a position of trust could be obligated to provide collateral. The use of better escrow services and information campaigns might also help.

If you want to start some type of anti crypto scam organization, you'd need to find a private investigator or social engineer who has skills like Kevin Mitnick. Someone who would be willing to track scammers down for a fee. Or develop a business model to use freedom of information requests or issue subpoenas to collect data from servers to backtrace scammers.

In practice, it could be run like an insurance service. Those covered under the insurance might pool their money to hire lawyers or whatever resources were necessary to track down scammers in an attempt to get their money back. There are many different ways it might be done.

I'm not an expert on the topic. I have no intent to try to piece together something that works. I only know that it is possible.

What makes things difficult is, the reactive portion of it only works if scammed/stolen funds are able to be recovered. If people can't retrieve what they lost it makes the process somewhat pointless which could mean it may only work if it functions within some form of rapid deployment, fast reaction, format.
