I don't think that there's much point in such comparisons. Pretty much nobody knew bitcoin's potential as a financial instrument and its potential value from back then. Overall, in the crypto economy innovation is still rewarded so there's no reason to build a time machine to actually earn from bitcoin.

There's no question that it's been a good investment, particularly if you bought at the right time.

Yes, it is true. if you save from 2010 and to date. it's crazy. I think the benefits you get are fantastic. so in the world of investment and the stock market. all can happen and surprise.

I will build a time machine and buy some. I'm truly such a child in those years hope it will be rewind and give chance to others like me. I literally regret it, if in that time I have know much about it and doesn't do anything like everyone else in this forum who painfully regretted it.

$ 3k + is the right time to buy bitcoin, nobody knows the price of bitcoin next year could be tens of thousands or even hundreds of thousands, bitcoin prices are very difficult to guess.
And now the price has started to stabilize

Nah, i dont think that we gonna see such surge.
Slow and stady growth is more likely, IMO 3-5x till Fall 2018

yes, that's true. no doubt, if at that time I invested $ 100 only, I am now a rich man. but it's no good anymore now because it's all over, we can only take lessons from all of this to not let things go.

At the time though no one in the world expected or knew how much Bitcoin would be worth today.

I never thought that bitcoin would be like this. I think the first bitcoin was just an ordinary coin that would disappear in some time, but all my guess was wrong. bitcoin is now an investment tool that many people are interested in and many people want to get it.

It took everyone by storm and the people that knew it earlier even must have doubted then if someone told them it's going to grow by this margins today. Technology keeps evolving and I guess Bitcoin has also and I wouldn't be surprised that in the next five years newbies will likewise be singing our song now.

How I wish I knew about bitcoin then in 2010 when its value was low to the turn that, with $100 worth of bitcoin has rapidly grow to $17 million at the current value. The question of the right time to buy is a very big problem. This is because, I don't believe anyone foresee what bitcoin value is as at today in 2010. And how many people were able to hold since 2010 till date?

That's good and all and makes you wish you would've invested early on but it's also important to look beyond the early days of bitcoin. What will bitcoi  be worth in 10-20 years? Work hard now instead of wishing you would've invested early on and get to work.

Can you please forecast what the market value of bitcoin will be in the next 10- 20 years? If you can tell me that the probability of bitcoin will triple in value is One then I will invest my money. In the next 10-20 the market value of bitcoin is uncertain and you don't expect a rational Economist to invest in an uncertain business situation.

That was a real investment. Right now we could expect for bitcoin value to rise, to hope that its price will be 50k+ or 100k+ and to say that we made good decision when we invested when price was 3 or 4 thousand but we can not know if something like that will ever happened, just like people in 2010 couldn`t know that its value will be this big.
Today I have to spend much bigger amount so I could buy one or two btc, back in the 2010 it was much much less and that`s what makes pretty big difference.
Anyway who ever buy then and save till now made amazing investment.

We can see people making a new coin every hour of every day to achieve the same fortune as early Bitcoin adopters, even I used to buy $40-$50 of every promising new token for a while, but I am back to reality now, in this reality you could only wish for a second BTC to provide the same rare opportunity for people. how many people do you think kept their Bitcoins all these years? many of them I bet sold their coins already.

Yes, the same can be said by people after 10 years from now. Today 1 bitcoinis 4000$ approx and after then years, lets suppose it is worth 40000$. So you can well imagine if you have 10 bitcoins now and save if for the next 10 years, how high rich you will be . But again currently no one will believe that bitcoin can reach 40000$. Same happened with people having bitcoins in 2010 and they thought these are just a piece of garbage and they never looked into the future. Wink

And that was from an article in May, when Bitcoin was $2200.  When it was around $5000 a month or so ago, it was over $150 million ... Turning $100 into $150,000,000 in less than a decade, the chance of a lifetime.  Wish I had heard of Bitcoin eariler.
