rename/modify Ethereum Key file

Hello,

I created a few accounts with MEW and for a better overview I would like to rename the key files. When I open them in a text editor I can see that it is basically a .json file so imho it shouldn't be a problem. That leads me to following questions:

    1. Is renaming the key file save?
    2. Is reformatting the entries to a more readable format save?
    3. Is saving them with .json file type save so I get syntax highlighting?
    4. How do you guys organize multiple key files?
