there are 100 billion xrp total supply, $1 would be a market cap of 100 billion (btc is 65b)

it should be noted that Ripple has a lawsuit going on

Maybe $1 per Ripple but $100 is beyond imagination. BTC would be more than 30 Trillion in that case.

Very likely, Ripple should be > $1 in 2018. Due to huge supply, its price moves slowly.
Ripple coins do get used up in transactions so once banks starts using it actively,
that will help the price.

For me XRP have potential in future, since it is low price now and have a large supply. I also noticed XRP devs are active, different project always. So my prediction after it's 2 years, XRP can reach 50$-100$ . XRP can also be a ethereum when ethereum pumps so fast lately.

I also invest in XRP and I think its value in the upcoming years would be very high. Xrp is a very promising coins even holding for a long term. I think it will pump so invest while we can.

This is good point, 100$ is way too much for this centralized project. Over time we will have more better projects so do not expect enormous rises, 2x to 10x is more than you need.

dont forget that there's a conference in october for ripple , the price will surely pump once we near the conference date , it might keep going up or get dumped after the conference depending on the news.

And what do you think will happen? Few days before we will enjoy pump and nothing more. There is also grete possibility that nothing will happen. Buy on dips and sell on news till you obeying this rule you have chances.

Ripple is actually a great coin to invest and there projects are somewhat progressing too. I am thinking of buying back this coin because I sold mine couple months ago because I needed the money to buy back another coin but will surely invest back with this coin for sure and hold it for a couple more years.

Whilst Ripple is a good solid project, working with a number of banks across Asia currently, the downside is the supply.

There are 1 Billion being released by the company Every single month (Until the 100b cap is met)

This means that the market cap is steadily increasing, without the price of Ripples increasing with it.

In 2 years, the price may rise by 25 cents or so, to around 0.5 dollars, but I doubt it will go much higher until the monthly releases end.

with the huge supply that Ripple has i do not have any high hopes for its future price in long term. it will probably be less than 100 satoshi by then. and when i look at what it has accomplished i only see them hyping the coin with fake statements and no actual work in real world.
the banks that were supporting them are already making their own thing based on the blockchain and not this coin itself!

I'm not saying I'm bullish or bear here.

That kind of thing rarely has a lasting effect on price. Only need to look at Bitcoin and ETH and their numerous "lawsuits". However, this particular case does look a bit different as Ripple is a very different monster. If bad news comes out of this lawsuit, any dip = good buy opportunity.

I am still out on XRP, too. I might take some if it suddenly crashes. But am all out of crypto for the next few weeks.

i hope someone can explain to me why they call ripple a good long term investment. the coin is always on the down trend in the long term. and it only has a couple of pumps a year and once in a while a huge pump.
for example this year XRP was pumped in about 2 months and then it is all down-hill from there. how can you consider THIS a good long term investment?

The price predictions are just a speculation. Nothing more. We even cant predict 2 min. after in this market. How do you think someone can tell you the approximate price of XRP  in 2019. I am even not sure that XRP can survive or not in 2 years.
If someone can say the price right, The first thing I will think is the time machine.
