TREZOR is your target. Most secure hardware wallet I'm aware of, with full support of Ethereum Tokens (ERC-20)

Just ask the TREZOR guys. I can't tell you what will be the firmware of the TREZOR they will ship to you... neither somebody else than them.
However, I guess the new TREZOR's are coming with newest firmware.

This time i heard the ledger already supported the erc20tokens, But that will be the last to get the update about the new ethereum token, With the trezor you can try to sychronize your hardware wallet with the myetherwallet as the web wallet too.

I know of two options that you can try doing if you want to store you Ethereum in a hardware wallet.
Trezor - It is a hardware wallet which I think you would be knowing by now.
Ledger Nano S - Its a hardware wallet where we can store BTC, ETH and altcoins. Its new in the market and provides good security measures.
These two are the best yet in the field and will provide you safety and assurity.

Trezor in conjunction with Myethereumwallet is the best solution.

I can say yes because the trezos was providing some security layers for you to accessing your wallet which the ledger doesn't have layer security, That means with the trezor you will be find various verification rather than use the ledger

Both Trezor and Ledger are secure and well known brands. Trezor previously have some security problems but managed to solve it fast.
