The way 'Proof of Work' has been articulated, I believe defeats the whole purpose & premise of Blockchain. I'm willling to stand corrected.

This is too simplistic view of blockchain. At one point is time the author says, predictors usually overestimate and later says by 2020 all government documents will be on blockchain. Quite shallow is my rating

Can we have some tangible benefits listed. The above article summarizes market cap of lot of stuff related to blockchain. Market cap tells nothing but largely the greed and incompetence of investors or their hyperbole. What will blockchain eventually achieve? Revenue enhancement or cost reduction? Business agility, security? Is there a tangible metric we can decide and agree upon to track based on which we identify whether it succeeded or failed? Or may be much like internet it will spawn new business models, new companies, new way of doing business? That will be truly transformational. However, if existing enterprises use it to enhance operations or some small start-ups come to create solutions, that will be extremely underwhelming.

Many of the technologies we now take for granted were quiet revolutions in their time. Just think about how much Job Platform on the blockchain  have changed the way we live and work.

Groups are called “miners” and operate vast data centers to provide this security, in exchange for cryptocurrency payments.

As the full potential of these breakthroughs hits society, things are sure to get a little weird. Self-driving cars and drones will use blockchains to pay for services like charging stations and landing pads.

auctions used to be narrow and local, rather than universal and global, as they are now on sites like eBay. As the costs of reaching people dropped, there was a sudden change in the system.

Predictors usually overestimate how fast things will happen and underestimate the long-term impacts.

it will extend into everything from supply chains to provably fair internet dating (eliminating the possibility of fake profiles and other underhanded techniques). And given how far [Suspicious link removed]e in 10 years, perhaps the future could indeed arrive sooner than any of us think.
