help a n00b with magi

Keep getting these random ass errors when I try to start mining:
JSON decode failed(1): '[' or '{' expected near 'HTTP'
JSON decode failed(1): '[' or '{' expected near 'Date'
 

What am I doing wrong..
./m-minerd --url stratum+tcp://mining.m-hash.com -u myuser -p mypass -t 8

I'm not sure what miner you are using but check the syntax if there's a readme.  Usually it is -o and not --url and -a m7m for the algorithm so maybe:

./m-minerd -a m7m -o stratum+tcp://mining.m-hash.com -u myuser -p mypass -t 8

check your configuration file for errors maybe?  Like a missing [ or {
