I am not sure what it is about WAVES but this isn't the first airdrop that I have seen that is "abandoned" immediately after the dev spends time sending out airdrops

As my understanding is now the airdrop indeed will be abandoned. It is just to get attention for 'their' project. It seems however that 'they' don't have the intention to abaondon that project.

I do have a few concerns though.

1) They stay anonymous because they want their project to be decentralized. However decentralization is different from anonymous centralization.

2) Their program does repeatedly alarm my virus scanner for a trojan.

The dev must have realized it is quite tiring to send free coins to a lot of people. Doing things makes you tired. Strange that he didn't consider this possibility (getting tired) from the very beginning.

He isn't a dev, he stated many times that it would be up to the community to make a use for this coin. He never intended to do anything after the drop.

I received 100000 coins yesterday, so glad I made it in first 1000 to be a part of round 1.

As for why the dev asks us to download ZeroNet it's because this is awesome technology that doesnt work unless people run it. You are able to host a website without needing to use a centralized server, and thats a step in a new direction.

I think a coin with Proof-Of-Stake rewards would make more sense, so that people had an incentive to always have the software running on their computers. Of course bandwidth isnt free for many so that would have to be taken into account, just like when seeding a torrent...

This would be demonstrated more clearly if someone were to host a page that they just created and then when other people visit it using its hash then ZeroNet's usefulness will be more apparent. Actually I should go look at the source before I pretend to know what I am talking about as this is all just speculation on how I think its supposed to work..
