I would not say dead, but definitely sleeping.  Wink

I had wanted to lead the coin in a more conservative manner when I took over its development/leadership.

The community surrounding it was actually decent. Unfortunately, the JKC community fell into the same trap as so many others have here lately.

They saw the bright flash of all the balloon and burst coins as they were fast tracked onto one exchange or another. They pushed to get on an exchange, and when it happened, JKC took the path as so many newer coins did.

Without a large enough community to support trade volume, its value never rose.

Steadily the community shrank as people left to chase the new coins, that almost seem to appear daily.

I still run a pool and am still developing services for JKC. I still am developing the JKC daemon/client. I have every plan to bring it back to the main stage, but now would be a foolish time to spend the time and resources to do so. Any attempt to majorly promote JKC, would be quickly swept away in the tidal rush of new coins coming on the market these days.

For now I wait, along with a few of the community that understand what I am doing. Quietly mining an easy difficulty, tuning and improving the website, services and client/daemon.

There will come a time, when JKC can be promoted again, especially since it is relatively unscathed compared to most of the flash & burst coins of late. This trend of crash and burn alt-coins cannot last forever and JKC will be there when the trend fades.  Smiley

Why don't you guys cut the massive dilution of 107 million coins down to maybe 21 million and lower the subsidy by half in order to allow mining for enough years in order to secure the network via PoW.

There's no need for over 100 million coins, that's much too dilutive and it scares off a lot of new investors who do look at the max cap (max dilution at maturity).  Maybe also throw in 1% PoS and you've got a nice, 1+ year old, proven and tested coin totally revamped and revived.

Lots of people will start looking for the older coins given most new coins are nothing but scams.  Older coins have better, larger communities and they're also much better distributed.

Just my 2 cents, JUNK was a catchy coin, it would be a shame to see it die while all these new ShitCoins scam people out of their money.  Follow DarkCoin's example, they cut their max cap from 88 million to 22 million and shot up to $14 per coin shortly after.

Cutting the max cap and the subsidy would be exactly like a corporation doing a huge stock BuyBack only JUNK doesn't have to spend any money doing it.  It's a brilliant and quick way to add instant value to any coin.

I hope the dev on this coin does something to increase the value for all longtime loyal shareholders.

Someone just tried to game JUNK big-time today.

They Manipulated the price down from 130 Satoshi to 2 Satoshi.

I have no idea how someone could have done that so smoothly without any attention.

I actually bought a few hundred junk coins at 18 Satoshi so it wasn't some glitch, it really went that low.

There were no sellers at that price, just bots selling tiny blocks.

Now the price is back up at 130 Sats but I wonder what's going on - was that a fat finger trade or is someone trying to buy up a huge portion of JUNK?

Anybody have any idea?

Thanks!

I dont see any manipulation, just someone dumped 500k which filled all the buy orders down to 2 sats.

I dont see any manipulation, just someone dumped 500k which filled all the buy orders down to 2 sats.

Someone dumped 500,000 JunkCoins which is 5% of the total coins right now and they were happy getting 2 Satoshi when they could have gotten much much more?

I mean, why not try to get 50 Satoshi?  I think he would have sold most of it at 50 sats or higher.

Unless it was an accident but I don't think so given if you look at the buy side, there are now tons of orders for 10,000 and much higher.

That's new - until recently there were nowhere close to that many buy orders.

And on the sell-side, same manipulation now.  Lots of stacked sell orders.  I looked for weeks to buy some Junk and it took days to find just one 10,000K block - JUNK is a very difficult coin to accumulate.

I don't know, to me it seems like there is a big buyer now, but why?  This is an abandoned coin with no dev and I don't even know if it even has a thread.  lol

I'd like to know cause if there's a new dev I would consider buying some JUNK.
