Given the situation on the market now, BTC is a more profitable coin than ETH.  And if you plan to hold coins for a short term, then the BTC is the best option.

I think both Ethereum and Bitcoin are good for both short term and long term investment. Ethereum network developers try to solve the problems with scalability and  Bitcoin can't solve the scalability issue. For the long run I will choose Bitcoin)

ethereum is a big altcoin but it is still a pump and dump altcoin. there are so many hard believers in it around this forum but that never saves a project with so many issues. and speaking of investment, the unlimited supply of ether which already has a huge circulating supply is not going to be kind to the price in future.
this makes ether a good short term investment only during the pumps and a bad one for long term since the price will go down in long.

bitcoin on the other hand is the only cryptocurrency that has actual usage. it is adopted as a currency by many big companies such as Microsoft and lots more. even countries like Japan adopted it as a currency. that leads to more adoption and with it price rises.
and with the limited and small supply of bitcoin the price has only one way to go and that is up. which is why everyone says bitcoin is the only long term investment here.

Ethereum is better. I like Ethereum and I think nowadays this coin is too undervalued. Ethereum worth much more than 200 USD, becuase almost every ICO is based on their blockchain. Ethereum will bounce very soon!

Honestly speaking, bitcoin and ethereum are the 2 top competitors in the cryptos, besides from the 2 being different, since ETH is token-based and BTC is coin-based you can't really determine who really is going to be the topnotcher, the cryptos have pros and cons, some say bitxoin is unsafe, and ethereum is much more secured, and then some say bitcoin is investable rather than ethereum, but honestly speaking it really depends, for me investing could be great if you choose ethereum and trading could be nice if you pick bitcoin, so at the end of the day, I think both are great.

But out of the two I personally think that Bitcoin has higher potential than etherium. First, my preference is for use (utility) coins, and Bitcoin has no practical use. It is not a reliable store of value and it cannot be transferred easily enough to become a medium of exchange. Now, both of these may change, but that’s a bet.

Ether (the name of the coin) is used on Ethereum (the name of the blockchain). Ethereum is gaining popularity as a practical business environment.

Second, there is too much evidence that the price of Bitcoin is being manipulated. Why but into a market that is potentially corrupt?

I think there is no need to compare, everything will remain in place as now, Ethereum certainly will not replace bitcoin, because bitcoin and Ethereum are very different , and here I think bitcoin has many advantages over Ethereum

That's a wrong comparison. These are the most popular and reliable cryptocurrencies. But they are different from each other. If you are interested in where to invest, it depends on your preferences. I have invested in both Ethereum and Bitcoin. They're both in good condition.
