Each of us can decide if we want to use technology in a positive way or a negative way. My fear is that many people aren't aware of the negative consequences of addiction to social media. I deactivated my Facebook for years because it was causing me to think weird thoughts. This was years ago, before people were talking about the negative effects of technology on our brains. Bill Maher who I disagree with on a lot of things did a great piece on this.

My favorite social media platform is Twitter. It is much more educational and informative than Facebook and obviously Instagram. A lot of the time you're seeing comments and opinions from people who you may be very different than. I try and follow people from a lot of different industries and political parties so that I can see both points of view. Facebook is mostly just for humble-bragging and people promoting their own shit. Myself included!

Quite easily technology made life easier. Made the world smaller. Made sending out information to far away places in the world to people you barely even know. Also the amount of information we get is so fast and so much that we have a short attention span, we can't even sit to read or wait for 10 seconds
