ArtByte announced on Twitter, the release of its Segwit enabled wallets. The wallets have always had built-in mining, but now it is even easier.

I don't know how Segwit impacts the network, but the wallet blockchain download went from 12 hr downloads to 2 hours.

I have downloaded the WIN, MAC, and Linux wallets. All are very fast and the built-in pool miner is much easier for noobs.

I don't understand. Does SegWit improve transfer of previous transaction that were not SegWit enabled?

I only downloaded the macOS ArtByte wallet. The built-in minerd finally works. This should really be great for creative, artistic types that seem to flock to Macs. I just worry they might burn out their CPUs trying to mine ArtByte though...

Will the old wallets still be able to mine, or will they have to be upgraded?

You can mine with old wallet. New wallet gives you lower fees and faster confirmations.

Segwit enabled wallets i truly haven't heard of them. but can i ask you a question ? does these wallets hold the private keys? and what are exactly the altcoins that they are supporting?

Wallet support ArtByte (ABY) only. Only a few altcoins are SegWit enabled. I think LiteCoin (LTC) is one and ABY will be another. There may be other altcoins, but the names escape me at the moment.
