Did a transaction exactly an hour ago and it's at only 3/unconfirmed.

I think it can take several hours even before your transaction is included in a block.

I've recently had a transactions take 12 hours to get like 6 confirmations....

Thanks, I thought only tiny transactions were delayed, but I'm not an expert.

I was moving bitcoins to my "safe house" and after the first big transaction, I noticed 45 minutes later that it didn't get a single confirmation. So I sent a small transaction with .1222228 and paid a .01 fee and then both transactions went through and within seconds I had 1 confirm on both.

seems like the exponential growth has hit a profitability wall, people are quitting mining but some are just starting ...

also the stats on deepbit show 20% more average shares per block, just a randomness I guess. but it looks more difficult than planned Smiley btw before difficulty jump, it was mostly negative (that is, lucky) so the jump was not 57% but much closer to 100%. maybe other pools were different though.

It will be interesting to see if this + MtGox are the ceiling for some of the recent adopters. I was initially under the impression that it would be mainly casual users dropping their rigs but after scanning the forums it seems a lot of hardcore rigs are hitting the resale market as well.
