Just before the surge in 2017 there was a time of maximum pessimism where most coins were worth nothing, then many went up 100 x or more. |

This is true, but also true is the fact that from time to time a coin had it's move up. Now this isn't happening anymore. Only some ICOs go up pumped by investors money. A lot of coins are dead because the price or volume killed them (delisted from exchanges) or abandoned by the developers just because they worth nothing or the money run out (ICOs). |

The most classic reason is that they made an ICO just to make a profit, after that they left and returned by making the same project. All of that was organized so I'm not surprised to see a phenomenon like this. |

The Compound Coin community has been looking for the original dev who created the coin.
The community wants to move the project forward, but so far has not been successful in locating the dev.
Can you pleas help find the original dev who has full access to the GitHub repo?

You can give it a try, but since the dev left without warning, I doubt he/she will give you access to the full Github repo. He could have passed the coin to another dev or anyone from the team in the first place if he wanted to. But who knows.. maybe I am wrong. |

So, no one has a copy of the code?
I see that's one thing to do when getting involved in a project, always download the code. I don't think most people would realize that the dev could lock the github and not distribute the code after it already once being open source.

The source code is openly available on GitHub. That has never been an issue.
The main issue is not having full access to the GitHub user account that uploaded the source code. This is because exchanges and other services ask for the information when you need them to make changes on their end.

The main team for this coin I think is non-English, so they may not check this thread often.
