There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, but full nodes are more resource-heavy, and they must do a lengthy initial syncing process. As a result, lightweight clients with somewhat less security are commonly used.

Well not sure if I get exactly what you want to do but here's a coin: PowerCoin PWR. I don't have any info on it as its domain is for sale and there's barely any info out.

I wouldn't say a new dev is always a good thing. Take overs mostly happen when the dev has bought in big for low prices

Only know two, there are piecoin and xtrabytes, both taken over months ago. worth looking for, especially xtrabytes. It has new concept but still in development and no whitepaper yet. Both price soar high after take over. but don't take my word as investment advice, research by yourself

(afaik) they are taken by community and ICO investor. Not really know about piecoin but xtrabytes team is recruited from its community, anyone can join the board as long as you have something to offer. better to visit their ann thread

But i know it'll be higher than current price (4-5xx), just waiting when its network fully built and worked and/or when listed on bittrex (but it's up to you)
