Hi Everyone
I recently bought a D3 to be received in Oktober and have been researching ways of removing the exhaust heat, too keep operating costs as low as possible. As I found on quite a few forum posts and Youtube videos is that most people use a 4" 120mm adapter and then put a 4" dryer duct on the back and then that's it. What I would like to know is how much back pressure the reducing of the pipe size has on the cooling performance of the Antminer fans. Also why has no one gone for a larger pipe size like 5" or larger, wouldn't that work better than squeezing 250CFM into a pipe smaller than the fan. Also what length can the pipe be before the length starts impeding on cooling performance. Sorry if this is too specific questions but there are not alot of clear answers in the places I've looked. Does it even matter in the end, or does the fact that I exhaust the heat negate the potential downsides of the respective pipe sizes? Thanks in advance.
My testing of s-9 and Avalon 741 show 10 in flex duct from homedepot is good for up to 6-8 feet .
Fully place the front end into the duct,
You can do longer then 6-8 feet with vertical ducting.
Four inch ducts are not that effective.
