Hi guys, an indian user stole my original account , username Roidz : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=821374I said indian cause he starting write in indonesian or other language in the forum ( i'm italian). He changed the mail and i can't recover my account. Why the forum do not warning when someone try to change the email? He changed the email and i can't enter and not even recover it! ( he changed the mail, look : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=trust;u=821374 ) I can tell to moderator also the old email. To prove that the mail is mine, they can easily send a link or something to the original email and i can click or confirm it cause it is my email. Or they can also check the ip address of registration or from where he writes. There are many ways to prove that he stole my account! Please, do something, i want my original account back! Thanks.

i read all, but i can't sign a btc account, cause i made the account some years ago and i never thought at something similar to recover my address. Think that i discovered trezor only 2 months ago! i have access to the original email that was changed, why there should be problems with it? only the owner can access to the original email... just send some confirmation there and i will prove that he stole my account and he changed the mail. he should be ashamed!

How hard is this to understand?
Recovering hacked accounts or accounts with lost passwords March 02, 2014, 08:45:09 PM #1 If you use any sort of Google email service, then the password recovery email will go to your spam folder.
If you want us to recover a hacked/lost account, you need to prove that you own it. Typically, the only acceptable method of proving ownership is by signing a message (including current date and desired new email address) using a Bitcoin address or PGP key associated with the account. A Bitcoin address or PGP key is associated with the account only if the account posted the key/address, sent it in a PM, or if it is still listed in the account's profile.
I very rarely recover accounts if you can't prove ownership as described above. There are alternative ways of proving ownership, but they take too much time. If I point you to this thread, you can't prove ownership properly, and then I ignore your future PMs, this means that I'm not going to recover your account. Create a new one.
Send one PM to either me or Cyrus. When sending a PM, use a template like this:
Quote -----BEGIN BITCOIN SIGNED MESSAGE----- My account <account> has been hacked/lost. Please reset the email to <email>. The current date is <date>. -----BEGIN SIGNATURE----- <insert address here> <insert signature here> -----END BITCOIN SIGNED MESSAGE-----
Here is the unedited post where I posted that address: ... OR I sent that address to someone in a PM with PM ID#...
All required info must be in one PM.
Do not create your temporary account using the same email address you want for the hacked/lost account. No two accounts can have the same email address.

This is a bit ridicolous, no one send email confirmation links to the owner of the account. This is the only one forum that acts like this. Useless to make accounts here and talk for years, cause at any moment someone can steal it.
Infact also many that signed the address never had back their account. Very sad the rules of the forum.
So what can i do to make the life of the scammer much harder?

Can't do much if you can't prove that account is yours, other than leaving him a neg, which you did already. Don't think DT is going to tag it either, unless you can sign a message. And s notification wouldn't really have helped you, would it? Don't blame the forum for your getting hacked--if that's what happened.
Roidz is just a-shitposting away. Look at him go, earning money by smearing keyboard feces all over the forum. Too bad you didn't stake an address. Let this be a lesson to everyone else: Stake an addy from a wallet you can sign a message from ASAP. Or else you'll end up in a predicament like this one.

An Indian user stole your account and started writing in the Indonesian Section ? I don't know if you understand India and Indonesia are two different countries.Regardless, consider that account gone forever if you are unable to provide an ownership over it.

a notification would help, cause if someone try to change the email, i receive the email. And the scammer does not have the access to my email.

Just create a new account, use the one you're using here, or show proof of ownership. There's no other way to get your account back. Who's to say you didn't sell it and are now scamming him?

Like I couldn't find anything specific that would stand as a strong entity to prove your account ownership.

In a forum, usually we should have an email change protection, but not here.

There is no proof, that's my point. I'm not accusing you of anything, but there's no proof you own that account and that's what you need to get it back. As KWH said, it's very simple. This forum has pretty clear-cut rules about getting accounts back and you seem to be missing that. I'm trying to explain to you the reasoning behind the requirement for a signed message from a staked address. That's proof of ownership. I'm not against you, dude.

LOL, this is a giant clusterfuck.
I tagged the_she for selling accounts, and I hope some other members do as well. I also tagged Roidz, just because there's this accusation open against him and I don't like the way he shitposts anyway.
This situation tends to support the hypothesis that OP isn't telling the truth, that he sold this account to the_she. I'm interested to see who says what now. And this, gentlemen, is a fine example of why account selling/buying should not be allowed here. It becomes a huge mess with dishonesty and mudslinging.

~snip~ Please Do not disturb me.
You are fu**ing kidding me, right? Please Do not disturb??? You have a HACKED Account which is not yours... I am willing to return this account if I get my bitcoin back. I bought this account with a price of 0.036 Bitcoin. I did not previously know this account was bought or hacked. I'm just a buyer.
Dude, you might as well return the account to him... I am sure that Lauda and Vod will be here soon to tag the account and it will become 'worthless' pretty soon. The moral thing you can go is give it back...

No, I don't think so. You still haven't proven the account was yours to begin with, and you're still missing that point. What don't you understand about a signed message? Edit: I'm not saying you didn't get hacked, but assuming this guy won't return this account, the admins won't help you without proof of ownership. I tend to believe you're telling the truth, but I would have no way of knowing for sure.

Well that didn't fucking happen and it's too late now. 2FA would be fantastic for security, but that doesn't prove you own the account.
You seem to be willfully dense. Good luck with this, you're gonna need it here and in life.
Edit: Proof of email is not proof of bitcointalk account ownership. Maybe a mod will say otherwise, but not from what I've seen here. That's what I'm trying to impress upon you. I'll end my contribution now and see what staff has to say, if anything.
