Hi All

Firstly, let me state by saying that I am more than happy to use an escrow on this, so reputable escrows - please get in touch!

This is a really nice coin, 'carved' by the infamous WOODCOLLECTOR back in 2015.

Name: Black Swan
Material: Quartersawn Zebra Wood

The black swan theory or theory of black swan events is a metaphor that describes an event that comes as a surprise, has a major effect, and is often inappropriately rationalized after the fact with the benefit of hindsight.

The theory was developed by Nassim Nicholas Taleb to explain:

The disproportionate role of high-profile, hard-to-predict, and rare events that are beyond the realm of normal expectations in history, science, finance, and technology.
The non-computability of the probability of the consequential rare events using scientific methods (owing to the very nature of small probabilities).
The psychological biases that make people individually and collectively blind to uncertainty and unaware of the massive role of the rare event in historical affairs.

This piece was created to symbolize Bitcoins position as a sort of black swan event. "Black Swan" is carved into a gorgeous specimen of Quartersawn Zebrawood, (one of my favorite woods to work with due to the crazy end grain patterns), and accented with onyx black text and designs, then finished in crytstal coat. (the crystal coat is what gives it the glittery like finish that reflects like diamonds around the raised surface areas.)
_____

The above is Woodcollectors description - my description is its a beautiful piece but it just reminds me too much of when i was scammed, he scammed me on the price of this and also did not send another piece I paid 3BTC for.

AUCTION END DATE: 14TH OCTOBER

We'll need pictures, and February 14th is the end date?

Also where is your starting price or minimum increment for bidding?

How about some new pictures with a timestamp and your name to show you're in posession of the piece?
Almost three year old pictures wont do it.

On the condition that you are indeed in possession of this piece, it is still in great condition, and that it is currently located in the United Kingdom as per your previous post, then I am prepared to place an opening bid for this.

Well, that was the story WoodCollector told everyone at the time anyway Tongue haha.

Only reason I am interested in this is because it goes down in crypto history along with Coinographic and Alitin, with the exception that these were never funded.

Plus I gotta admit, most of these are kinda cool, even if people did get lied to and screwed over whilst they were being "hand carved" Grin

It being in the UK makes shipping a hell of a lot cheaper too! Hoping I nab this one.

Mine was the first one done IIRC. I can post some pics if anyone is interested. Regardless of how they were made they certainly have some history attached to them.

Agreed, I have a custom piece he did for me.  It is just a piece of bitcoin history at this point.

Hey all,

Pics will be coming - my father is away until the weekend and this beauty is in his loft...

Also have this wooden coin for sale

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=900692.0

Feel free to bid on either, although the UNITY piece is my favorite!

Next week will be auctioning off a load of COINOGRAPHIC coins (10 in total, many number 1/2/500/10 etc) - unfunded as Mark Hamilton, the owner of Coinographic stole all the funds!

But yes, keep your eyes open next few weeks, lots of auctions coming up:)
